We focus on supporting moths, butterflies, ants, bees, spiders, flies, beetles and other insects that are native to the historic plant assemblages of the Pomona Valley, sage scrub, chapparal, foothill/woodland, and riparian. Our approach discourages invasive species, such as mosquitoes, that people find undesirable.

Our initial study, in partnership with the Green City Studio at Cal Poly Pomona University, identified and profiled 15 target species, upon which our program is designed. This is not an exhaustive list of target species, but provide a good foundation for planning a garden.
